The temperatures are slowly dropping and Atlantans are eagerly awaiting the perfect weather of fall and embracing opportunities to be outdoors. And, what better way to break away from the work day and get a little fresh air than with lunch in Woodruff Park? After taking a summer vacation, “
Wednesdays in Woodruff” is back, bringing city dwellers a much needed weekly opportunity to relax and enjoy free live music ranging from jazz to reggae in the outdoor “café” the park has created. On a deadline? You’re in luck; the park has free Wi-Fi so you can stay in touch while lunching and listening.
The park will officially continue the 2008 season beginning on Wednesday, September 3 and encourages all of Atlanta to usher in the beautiful weather with “Wednesdays in Woodruff” from noon to 1 p.m. each week. So, grab lunch from one of Downtown’s delicious dining spots and go towards the green.

The six acres that encompass Woodruff Park make it a refreshing green space in Downtown Atlanta. From the open-air pavilion where “Wednesdays in Woodruff” takes place to the quaint Reading Room across the park where you can find all your favorite magazines, Woodruff Park provides a refuge from the everyday hustle and bustle of the city. Pair the green atmosphere with 100 café tables, more than 200 chairs, and free Wi-Fi throughout the park and you’ve got the ideal spot for the Downtown business community and visitors to chill, chat and check out the surroundings.
Musical programming for “Wednesdays in Woodruff” is provided through a partnership between the Metro Atlanta Arts & Culture Coalition and the Atlanta Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, Office of Cultural Affairs.

Woodruff Park is one of Downtown Atlanta’s most significant green spaces. Located in the heart of the city’s financial, entertainment, and academic districts, Woodruff Park features large lawn and plaza areas, a bandstand, sculptures and colorful landscaping.
