Ignatius House Offers Renewal Through Hope at Retreat Dec. 12-14

Retreat Center Allows A Disconnect from the Digital and A Reconnect to the Spiritual

ATLANTA, Nov. 20, 2008 – At a time when many are stressed by the everyday–the demands of the holidays, job security, economic woes and more, Ignatius House (www.ignatiushouse.org) offers a respite from the everyday for people seeking a time for renewal this holiday season. Ignatius House, located on the Chattahoochee River in Sandy Springs, Georgia, will offer a special retreat the weekend of Dec. 12-14 focused on the theme “Hope in the Midst of Darkness.” This weekend retreat at Ignatius House allows men and women of all backgrounds and beliefs to take a break from the stresses of their current lives and situations. It allows for quiet and reflection to become closer to their faith by surrounding themselves with and embracing God’s beautiful creation.

“There are moments when we all experience darkness at times in our lives, but how do we cope with these situations?” said Fr. Albert Louapre, SJ of Ignatius House. “Do we fall short of our trust in God to come to our assistance? Jesus' primary mission during his lifetime was to bring light to those in darkness and here we explore how this gives us hope and purpose no matter where we are in our lives.”

Open to men and women of all faiths, the retreat provides the environment of silence and reflection and the opportunity to listen to preached sessions to guide the retreat experience. People who are facing stresses from job loss, work challenges or from the demands of the holidays are highly encouraged to attend. The retreat is based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola and will be directed by Fr. Ken Buddendorff, S.J.

Reservations for the weekend retreat are taken on a first come first serve basis and space is limited. Lodging and meals are included with the retreat. Retreats begin on the first day at 6:00 PM and end on the last day after lunch. Reservations can be made by phone (404) 255-0503, by e-mail ihsecretary@bellsouth.net or online at www.ignatiushouse.org. A $50 deposit is required with a reservation.
